Rose Schlegelmilch 90, of 136-A Arch Street, Keene, NH died at Langdon Place of Keene on Thursday morning, October 13, 2016 with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Manhattan, NY on May 8, 1926 the daughter of Giangrazio and Criscenza Melillo. Rose grew up in New York and attended local schools. She lived in Middle Village, Queens, NY for many years and has lived in Keene for the past seventeen years.

Rose Schlegelmilch 90, of 136-A Arch Street, Keene, NH died at Langdon Place of Keene on Thursday morning, October 13, 2016 with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Manhattan, NY on May 8, 1926 the daughter of Giangrazio and Criscenza Melillo. Rose grew up in New York and attended local schools. She lived in Middle Village, Queens, NY for many years and has lived in Keene for the past seventeen years.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who was much loved by her family. She loved singing in the choir at St. Raphael's, St. Margaret's, and Our Lady of Hope Church in the Queens, NY. Rose loved flowers, gardening, cooking, playing the piano and dancing.

She was the Bursar of Kew Gardens School for more than fifteen years. She was a member of the Parish of the Holy Spirit and attended St. Margaret Mary Church in Keene, NH. Rose's greatest accomplishment was her marriage to her loving husband and soul mate Roy of seventy years, their sons Roy, Jr and John and daughter Christine; her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Roy G. Schlegelmilch of Keene, NH; two sons; Roy Schlegelmilch, Jr. and his wife Carol of Garden City, NJ and John Schlegelmilch and his wife Connie of Keene, NH; one daughter Christine Leoniak and her husband Andy of Blooming Grove, NY; nine grandchildren; Katherine, Mary Rose and husband Rich, Patrice and husband Phil, JP and wife Lisa, Ann and husband Yavar, Michael, Matthew, and wife Ellen, Ryan and Paul; eight great grandchildren; Rich, Brianna, Kirsten, Stephen, Adriana, Philip, Cyrus, and Azadeh several nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 arch Street, Keene, NH on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. Daniel O. Lamothe will be the celebrant. He will be assisted by her son Pastor Roy. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cheshire Health Foundation, Development Office, 580 Court Street, Keene, NH 03431 to provide clothing for newborns.
