Helen C. Dusavitch 69, of Swanzey, NH, passed away at her home in Swanzey, on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.

She was born in Keene, NH, on November 1, 1947, the daughter of John and Christine (DuBois) VanNess. She grew up in Keene and was a graduate of Keene High School. She lived in many states and countries being a military wife eventually retiring in Swanzey, NH.

Helen C. Dusavitch 69, of Swanzey, NH, passed away at her home in Swanzey, on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.

She was born in Keene, NH, on November 1, 1947, the daughter of John and Christine (DuBois) VanNess. She grew up in Keene and was a graduate of Keene High School. She lived in many states and countries being a military wife eventually retiring in Swanzey, NH.

Helen's passion in life centered on raising her family, caring for her home, and vast array of hobbies. Her whole world changed with the arrival of her two granddaughters, Emma and Lauren, who now also experienced her love and her whole being.

She was very talented and creative with particular strengths in baking, gardening and tole painting. Most of all, she will be remembered as an amazing wife, mom and grandmother (Gigi).

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 48 years, Ronald J. Dusavitch, Sr. of Swanzey; two sons, Ronald J. Dusavitch, Jr. of Silver Lake, NH and William J. Dusavitch of Concord, NH; her two granddaughters, Emma Dusavitch and Lauren Dusavitch, both of Concord; two sisters, Jacquelyn Gage of Bedford, NH and Charlotte Breton of Keene; a brother, Joseph VanNess, of Westmoreland, NH; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen LeDuc.

A committal service and celebration of life for Helen will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 12:30PM in the Chapel at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. Family and friends are welcome.

In lieu of flowers for those who wish, donations may be made in Mrs. Dusavitch's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Tribute Program, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
